Customerville partners with our client companies (“Client Companies or “Client Company”) to help them collect and use customer feedback, often via a web survey.  Customerville collects Personal Information from you when you respond to a survey. That Personal Information is the property of our Client Companies, and neither they nor we provide it to any other party.

When completing a survey you may be asked, as appropriate, to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, telephone number or survey responses. We may also ask you other information about your experience with our Client Company, or about yourself.

What information do we collect?

Opt-Out of Email and Mobile Updates

You may have the opportunity to elect to receive email and mobile communications from our Client Companies for the purpose of receiving updates about their products or services.   Our Client Companies will only send you these “opt-in” emails or send you these mobile alerts if you elect to receive them.  If at any time you decide you would rather not receive these types of communications from our Client Companies, you can opt-out by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of their emails, update the contact preferences for your account, for mobile marketing, you may opt-out by following the instructions provided in the text messages you receive, or contact Customerville’s Privacy Officer at privacyofficer@customerville.com.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information Customerville collects from you may be used in one of the following ways:

- To personalize or improve your experience

- To improve a website

- To improve customer service

- To improve our Client Companies’ products

- To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature

- To send periodic emails

The email address you provide may be used by our Client Companies to send you information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions.  Any contact information you provide may also be used to contact you in the event you have an unsatisfactory experience with any Customerville Client Company in an effort to resolve your concerns to your satisfaction.

How do we protect your information?

Customerville implements a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your Personal Information when you enter, submit, or access your Personal Information.

Customerville offers the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Database to be only accessed by those authorized with special access rights to our systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your response and related data will be kept on file indefinitely (on our servers and at times via a local copy on our Client Company’s servers) in order to allow our Client Companies to monitor long-term trends.

Do we use cookies?

Yes.  Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

Customerville uses cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

Customerville does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. Customerville may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. Non-personally identifiable aggregated trend data may be used for analytical purposes.

Safe Harbor Compliance

Customerville is in compliance with the U.S. Department of Commerce Safe Harbor requirements regarding the transfer of personal information from the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or Switzerland to the United States. Customerville has been Self-Certified under the Safe Harbor privacy frameworks as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce, European Commission and Switzerland regarding the collection, storage, use, transfer and other processing of personal data transferred from the European Economic Area or Switzerland to the U.S., in accordance with the EU Directive on Personal Data Protection. The principles of Safe Harbor compliance are:

• Notice - Individuals must be informed that their data is being collected and about how it will be used;

• Choice - Individuals must have the ability to opt out of the collection and forward transfer of the data to third parties;

• Onward Transfer - Transfers of data to third parties may only occur to other organizations that follow adequate data protection principles;

• Security - Reasonable efforts must be made to prevent loss of collected information;

• Data Integrity - Data must be relevant and reliable for the purpose for which it was collected

• Access - Individuals must be able to access information held about them, and correct or delete it if it is inaccurate;

• Enforcement - There must be effective means of enforcing these rules.

We may transfer the personal information we collect about you to countries other than the country in which the information was originally collected. Those countries may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. When we transfer your information to other countries, we will protect that information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Customerville has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the US-EU and US-Swiss Safe Harbor Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, the BBB EU SAFE HARBOR, operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because Customerville values your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. Customerville therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Customerville adheres to the federal privacy protection standards as stated in the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”).  We care about the safety of children. We will not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to provide us any personally identifying information. Children under 13 years of age are required to obtain the express permission of a parent or guardian before submitting any Personal Information about themselves (such as their names, e-mail address, and phone number) over the Internet. If a child has provided us with personally-identifiable information without the consent of a parent or guardian, the parent or guardian of that child should contact the Customerville’s Privacy Officer immediately at privacyofficer@customerville.com. We will use reasonable efforts to promptly delete the child's information from our servers.

Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
